Our Approach

Far too many students view Islam as a set of arcane rules and mysterious texts in a language that they cannot understand. Islam becomes something strange and foreign, rather than a true part of their lives. At The Muslim Educator Academy, we strive to create a sense of unity amongst this chaos. We study the Qur’an with a focus on meaning and reflection, learning to make connections between the Qur’anic message and daily life. We read works of literature with our “Muslim lenses” on, learning to adopt a faith-centered worldview whenever we encounter anything in the world around us.
Our Approach

The Best of Tech and Tradition

Classes incorporate online learning and hands-on engagement with books and other traditional tools. Students use journals, learn to annotate their Mushaf and other texts, and develop note-taking and mind-mapping skills to organize and retain their knowledge. Some classes incorporate calligraphy and art as well.

Live Sessions

Uniting students globally

In a live session of the Ramadan Qur'an Club, one of our students, Sumayyah, is creating artwork with calligraphy and paint as she interacts with her fellow students online. The beauty of the live sessions is that students are able to share thoughts and reflections with their peers from around the globe.

What Parents Are Saying

 Qanita

Truly enjoyed the class

Qanita

My children truly enjoyed Merium's hands-on, thought-provoking sessions. Merium's teachings extended beyond the weekly classes as she empowers children with skills and motivation that they use independently even outside of class. She gently guides children to fall in love with the Qur'an, ponder over Allah SWT's words, and most importantly, she taught my children to actively engage with every Ayah in the Qur'an. Jazk Merium!

We Were Hooked!

Angie Umm Sumayyah

"Ever since this class (Wrinkle In Time) with Merium Khan we were hooked! She creates a warm, inspiring environment which allowed my child to flourish. The stimulating discussions that I was hearing when I would pop my head in to check in on the class were beautiful as the Wrinkle in Time themes were blended naturally with Islamic topics. My favorite piece of this entire class was the infusion of Islamic concepts bringing in stories of Sahabī (RA) and important figures in Islamic history. Having access to Merium as a mentor through literature for my child is one of the modern technological advances I am truly grateful for.
